Once crawlers can reach a page, they need to read it. Many AI crawlers do not run JavaScript the way a browser does.
Rendering
Make sure the main content is in the HTML the server sends. If text, prices or reviews only appear after JavaScript runs, some systems will never see them. Test by fetching the page with JavaScript disabled.
Speed and reliability
AI systems fetch many pages at once to build an answer. Slow or failing pages are easy to skip. Keep server response times low and errors rare.
Structured data
Schema markup does not guarantee citation, but it removes ambiguity. Prioritise:
OrganizationandPersonwith consistent names, logos and profile links.Productwith price and availability, kept in sync with the page.Articlewith author and dates.LocalBusinesswhere relevant.
The markup must match the visible content. Markup that says something the page does not is a trust problem, not a shortcut.
Freshness signals
Show a real "last updated" date when you change content materially, and keep the dateModified value honest. Changing dates without changing content is easy to spot.
